Ray is an AI assistant that phones people back about enquiries. Ray is run by JobOS (Adriaan Bester, Cape Town, South Africa). This notice explains what we do with your information, as the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) requires.
If you asked Ray to call you
When you fill in our form (on Facebook or this website), we receive your name, cell number, and anything else you entered, such as your email, business and trade. We use it to phone you back about Ray, as you asked, and to email you what was agreed. We record the call and keep a transcript, so we have an accurate record.
If Ray phoned you about a business you contacted
Businesses use Ray to phone back their new customers. If you asked such a business for a quote, Ray phoned you on its behalf, and the details you gave go to that business. That business is responsible for your information; JobOS processes it for them.
What Ray always does
- Ray tells you he is an AI assistant and that the call is recorded.
- If you ask not to be called again, your number goes on a do-not-call list and Ray never phones it again.
- Ray only phones on weekdays 08:00-19:30 and Saturday mornings, never on Sundays or public holidays.
Who helps us
Switch Telecom (phone calls), Google Cloud (Ray's voice and reading the calls), Brevo (email), Fly.io (hosting) and Make (moving form details from Facebook to us). They only use your information to provide their service to us. Some of them process data outside South Africa, under the safeguards POPIA requires.
How long we keep it
Call recordings and transcripts are deleted after 90 days. Your contact details and a short summary of the call are kept while they are needed for the service, and deleted when you ask.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to us using it. Email hello@jobos.pro. Our information officer is Adriaan Bester. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
